For my latest novel, Goldie: A Magic City Wonders Novel, I wanted to encapsulate the energy and color of 1980s Miami mixed with superhero comic books, while still allowing the book to feel at home among other modern young adult novels. As I had multiple installments planned for the series, I created my own realistic book cover mockups that that I could use freely.
I also took time to create an appealing, readable interior layout, setting the tone and pattern for future books in the Magic City Wonders series.
The resulting designs achieved my stylistic goals, and the novel itself even won an award!
